WHO IS COVERED?
Nebraska State Soccer Association (Herein as Nebraska State Soccer), its member teams and leagues, validly registered players and players participating in try-outs, and coaches but only with respect to activities sanctioned or approved by the state association. (volunteers and employees included in the policy as protected parties)
WHAT IS COVERED?
Sanctioned events that are requested and approved by Nebraska State Soccer on behalf of Axis Insurance Company and for which a certificate of insurance has been issued.
This program provides protection for the Named Insured against claims of bodily injury liability, property damage liability and litigation costs to defend against such claims. Coverage is provided up to $1,000,000 per occurrence with a general aggregate amount of $5,000,000. There is no deductible under the general liability policy.
WHAT IS A SANCTIONED EVENT?
Team Activities:
- Scheduled Games, team practice sessions and team formation events, provided they are under direct supervision of an team official and the activity is either at a facility (outdoor or indoor) in which a certificate of insurance has been issued or is approved by Nebraska State Soccer; or sanctioned local or national tournaments as a member of a contestant team. Indoor games at a non-affiliated (e.g. private for profit & etc.) facility will not be covered.
- Any friendly game in which both team are registered members of Nebraska State Soccer or the United States Soccer Federation or games against college teams in which the Affiliate Member has approved play in advance.
Sponsored Activities:
- Any clinic sponsored by a member organization, free or fees are paid directly to member organization or member coach within the same club. Clinic will be defined as any activity in which no more than three (3) age groups are represented. Players can be registered or non-registered players. Coaches can be from member club or brought in by the member organization.
- Any camp sponsored by a member organization, free or fees are paid directly to member organization. Camps will be defined as any activity in which more than three (3) groups are represented. Players can be registered or non-registered players. Coaches can be from member club or brought in by the member organization. Any camp that is ran by member staff and not sponsored by the member organization. Any camp that is ran by member staff and not sponsored by the member organization or camps where fees are paid directly to staff will not be covered.

The General Liability program provides insurance coverage for liability imposed by law, up to the policy limit. The liability must stem from an occurrence which results in bodily injury to members of the public or damage to their property. The insurance company will provide defense for covered claims even if the allegations of the suit are groundless, false or fraudulent.
CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE:
Should special certificates be needed, a proper request should be made at least two weeks prior to the event. Certificates cannot be post-dated.

The coverage is broadened by the following extensions:
- Contractual Liability: Covers legal liability for bodily injury or property damage arising from certain written contracts relating to your usual operations. All contracts should be reviewed by legal counsel or a risk manager prior to being signed.
- Participant Legal Liability: Protects against suits brought by participants in covered activities. Participants include race participants, coaches, managers, staff members, and event officials who have been granted proper authorization to enter any restricted area(s) both during practices for or while participating in any competition or exhibition sponsored and/or sanctioned by a Named Insured.
- Personal & Advertising Injury: Covers your legal obligations for injury to others from: a) drug testing, b) false arrest, detention, imprisonment or malicious prosecution, c) libel, slander, defamation or violation of right of privacy, and d) wrongful entry or eviction or other invasion or right of private occupation.
- Host Liquor Liability: Provides coverage for damage arising out of the providing (not selling) of alcoholic beverages by or on behalf of the Insured during a covered activity.
- Fire Legal Liability: Provides Property Damage Liability for losses arising out of fire to real property rented to or temporarily occupied by the Named Insured with the permission of the owner. This does NOT take the place of property insurance.

This policy provides protection against catastrophic liability claims. The policy acts as excess coverage over Nebraska State Soccer Association’s primary liability policies. Its limits apply in addition to those provided by the underlying coverage, essentially increasing the limits of liability protection.
How do I file a Claim?
The general liability policy is triggered by a claim being brought against the named insured of the policy.
