WHO IS COVERED?
The Iowa Soccer Association, its member teams and leagues, validly registered players and players participating in try-outs, and coaches but only with respect to activities sanctioned or approved by the state association. (volunteers and employees included in the policy as protected parties)
WHAT IS COVERED?
Sanctioned events that are requested and approved by the state association on behalf of Axis Insurance Company and for which a certificate of insurance has been issued.
This program provides protection for the Named Insured against claims of bodily injury liability, property damage liability and litigation costs to defend against such claims. There is no deductible under the general liability policy.
WHAT IS A SANCTIONED EVENT?
Sanctioned shall mean an event, including but not limited to tournaments, league play, friendly game, or practice authorized by ISA or its affiliates, associations, clubs, leagues and their members. To be “sanctioned” an event must be limited to entities and/or individuals who are members of USSF. In addition, excess participant accident insurance is provided for injuries sustained while traveling as a team directly to and from an ISA sanctioned activity and traveling under the direct and immediate supervision of a team official.
Select tryouts are sanctioned events. Two to three day camps that may include non-member participants may also be sanctioned IF the State Association is notified and the event approved. In this case the State Association extends liability coverage for the event but excess participant accident coverage is limited to registered members only.

The General Liability program provides insurance coverage for liability imposed by law, up to the policy limit. The liability must stem from an occurrence which results in bodily injury to members of the public or damage to their property. The insurance company will provide defense for covered claims even if the allegations of the suit are groundless, false or fraudulent.
CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE:
Should special certificates be needed, a proper request should be made at least two weeks prior to the event. Certificates cannot be post-dated.
Certificates are issued in conjunction with properly sanctioned events. Please contact Nancy Greenley at the link below to request a certificate.

The coverage is broadened by the following extensions:
- Contractual Liability: Covers legal liability for bodily injury or property damage arising from certain written contracts relating to your usual operations. All contracts should be reviewed by legal counsel or a risk manager prior to being signed.
- Participant Legal Liability: Protects against suits brought by participants in covered activities. Participants include race participants, coaches, managers, staff members, and event officials who have been granted proper authorization to enter any restricted area(s) both during practices for or while participating in any competition or exhibition sponsored and/or sanctioned by a Named Insured.
- Personal & Advertising Injury: Covers your legal obligations for injury to others from: a) drug testing, b) false arrest, detention, imprisonment or malicious prosecution, c) libel, slander, defamation or violation of right of privacy, and d) wrongful entry or eviction or other invasion or right of private occupation.
- Host Liquor Liability: Provides coverage for damage arising out of the providing (not selling) of alcoholic beverages by or on behalf of the Insured during a covered activity.
- Fire Legal Liability: Provides Property Damage Liability for losses arising out of fire to real property rented to or temporarily occupied by the Named Insured with the permission of the owner. This does NOT take the place of property insurance.
Excess Liability Coverage
SUMMARY OF COVERAGE: To be adapted to state specific limits
Each Occurrence $1,000,000
Aggregate Limit-per event $1,000,000
Retained Limit/Deductible $0
This policy provides protection against catastrophic liability claims. The policy acts as excess coverage over Iowa Soccer Association’s primary liability policies. Its limits apply in addition to those provided by the underlying coverage, essentially increasing the limits of liability protection.
How do I file a Claim?

In the event of a claim, notification should be given immediately to American Specialty Insurance Services 142 North Main Street, Roanoke, IN 46783, telephone 800-245-2744.
